I think Dante's visual design is the weakest overall in this game. There are some enemies that are badly designed like the angels and those guys with the spinning buzzsaw shields. I didn't play Lucia's campaign because I do not enjoy suffering + Technically introduced Bloody Palace mode, not that you'd want to play it in this game. + You now don't have to restart a whole mission if you die, but it is nearly impossible to die + Dodge button was a good idea and it led to Trickster style, which was an even better idea + Dante's visual design is very good, and the devil trigger design is one of the best in the series = You can spam guns and win nearly every fight Enemies are dumb and have too little health to combo effectively Bosses range from "okay" to "I want whoever designed this to get kidney stones" Level design is boring and there are a few standouts that are just straight up timewasters The combo system that works so well in 1 is thrown out for a vastly inferior and less controllable system Dante took 20 Valium then got told he needed to kill satan so he's tired + Playing this will greatly improve your appreciation for later games + While the presentation of the plot is kind of awful, the actual plot itself is decent + You can cheese most of the game easily if you want to by spamming stinger and GL in sequence, which is good if you get sick of playing fair so I'm calling it a plus You can see the lingering bits of early RE4 in it, and that's not a negative at all + Visual style is distinctive and interesting. + That being said, basic combat is very fun and Dante controls well Level ratings aren't necessarily indicative of performance due to the above and some other stuff "Style" meter is anything but, it's really just a combo meter and you should ignore it Camera sucks, enemies attack from offscreen or the instant you appear in a room sometimes Bullet points for games are as follows, starting with negatives because I always do that: Worth it for DMC3 alone, and in fact 3 is the best of the bunch by far.
